A new cooking school for two tertiary education providers, including several teaching kitchens alongside typical education facilities.
The heavily serviced teaching kitchens in particular had a complex services design involving large extract hoods, tied with a large gas supply and electrical and lighting requirements which required careful co-ordination.
Specific complexities on this project ranged from the contractual relationship between base build for the landlord and fitouts for two tertiary education providers (and their respective Architects), to working in a five level structure which consisted of three seismically independent buildings, with roof top plant decks
Having a multi-headed client and multiple architects meant a high level of services co-ordination was required due to complexity of working within an existing structure being strengthened.
